What is Dog Bootcamp?
Updated: Dec 17, 2021
Dog bootcamp isn’t a place where dogs go to learn how to do tricks. It’s a place where they, and their owners, learn the fundamentals of discipline and obedience training. People who enroll their pets in these programs usually want them to behave better — not just walk on a leash, but also not jump up on people, refuse to stay out of the kitchen when food is being prepared, or eat furniture and other household items.
Many people who attend a dog bootcamp take their pet there because of behavioral problems, especially when the pet is young, has been neglected or is otherwise unhappy or insecure. Many dogs whose owners think they are naughty are actually anxiety-ridden or fearful and need to learn how to conquer their fears. There are also new puppy classes that teach parents and children how to handle a new puppy, introducing them to all the exciting things that happen throughout the puppy's development.
A dog bootcamp will teach you and your dog many important lessons in life which will be almost impossible for any human being to know how to do on their own.
